1)Dock Crew:

Job description:

Pocono Action Sports offers a variety of boats available to rent or charter 7 days a week on Lake Wallenpaupack, PA from May to October. We are committed to excellence and have a passion for fun.

Summary A Rental and Dock Crew Member is responsible for rentals checking in and out daily, maneuvering boats between docks, fueling up boats, assisting at the rental desk, cleaning and maintaining premises, and other tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Maintain appearance of boats, docks, facilities, and equipment

• Assist customers with boarding/disembarking boats, casting off/securing lines

• Going over standard safety procedure with each rental customer

• Maintain accurate records in the reservation system when checking rental customers in and out for the day

• Monitor weather and communicate with customers and staff about hazardous conditions

• Complete thorough boat inspections to isolate damage and/or verify the boat is operational

• Assist answering calls at rental desk or going over check in process with rental customer

• Fuel Boats

• Maneuver boats between docks

• Keep a positive attitude and provide excellent customer service to customers, employees, and prospective customers

• May be asked to assist with other duties to ensure that operations run smooth

Supervisory Responsibilities

Summary A Charter Captain is responsible for safe operation, navigation, and overall management of a vessel. They oversee crew members, ensure passenger safety, maintain compliance with maritime regulations, and manage day-to-day vessel operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Safely navigate and operate the vessel (Tiki and/or pontoon boats) in various weather and water conditions

• Ensure compliance with maritime laws and regulations (e.g., United States Coast Guard regulations, if applicable)

• Monitor weather forecasts and sea conditions before and during trips

• Supervise and manage crew members

• Conduct safety briefings for passengers and crew

• Inspect and maintain vessel equipment and systems

• Oversee fueling, maintenance schedules, and repairs

• Handle emergency situations such as mechanical failures or medical incidents

• Ensure proper docking, anchoring, and mooring procedures

• Maintain appearance of boats, docks, facilities, and equipment

• Assist members with boarding/disembarking boats, casting off/securing lines

• Keep a positive attitude and provide excellent customer service to members, employees, and prospective customers

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Valid Boater Safety License and Valid Captain’s License – Must take PA Boat and Fish Commission Charter License on the Lake. Can also have OUPV/Six-Pack or Master License as well

• Knowledge of navigation systems (GPS, radar, sonar)

• Strong understanding of maritime safety regulations

• Leadership and decision-making skills

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Mechanical knowledge of marine engines

• Experience operating similar vessel types (charter boats, fishing boats, yachts, ferries, etc.)

Education and Experience:

• Must Be 18 years and Older

• High school education or equivalent

Summary A First Mate/Host/Entertainer is responsible for greeting and checking in guests, assisting guests getting on and off the vessel. Providing specific entertainment to guests depending on what type of charter is going out. (Entertainment tools provided by Pocono Action Sports) For example, Trivia.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Greeting guests warmly upon arrival and checking them in

· Escort guests to their tables

• Conduct safety briefings for the passengers

• Assist Charter Captain in disembarkation of vessel

• Assist Charter Captain in anchoring vessel

• Assist guests in and out of water

• Assist Charter Captain in docking and securing lines

• During Charter provide entertainment, such as Trivia, Karoke, etc.

• Maintain cleanliness, safety equipment, floatation equipment, and organization of the vessel

• Monitor weather and communicate with members and staff about hazardous conditions

• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return

• May be asked to assist with other duties to ensure that operations run smooth

Summary The Rental Manager is responsible for the entire rental department managing the rental reservation system, boats in rental fleet, rental crew members, gas dock, and supreme customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

In Season Duties

• Direct oversight of rental crew members and office staff

• Manage fleet of 25+ vessels (safety gear on board, mechanical maintenance tracking, operational status)

• Manage booking for rental equipment

• Schedule employees on weekly basis, track hours for budgeting

Off Season Duties

• Setup marketing for up coming season

• Hire and train seasonal employees

• Budgeting

• Boat and dock prep for rental equipment
